The basic story was that Paul was driving in his truck at about 5:00 on a Wednesday morning in 1966. He was at a red light, and something distracted him (most likely the parking meter maid, Lovely Rita), and he didn't notice that the lights had changed (sound familier?). The Beatles were worried that their career was over, with Paul being dead, so that "Wednesday morning, papers didn't come", or rather, no story of his death was published, because thay wanted to keep it a secret. Shortly after the accident, a Paul McCartney look-alike contest was held. The winner's name was never released to the public, but the winner was William Campbell, who played the part of Paul. There were no more Beatles concerts because of his death. During the rest of the Beatleyears, "clues" that the real Paul was dead were put out on their albums and written in their songs. Is Paul McCartney dead? Of course not. But YOU can decide for yourself.....WARNING: Before reading any of these clues, make sure you have a good imagination!
